SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO SUPPORT OUR ORGANIZATION

A special "THANKS" to Davenport Medic and MedForce for their assistance on our Mass Casualty "Mock" Scenario on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at our Annual Training Conference.  Always a pleasure working with you.  The scenario was a success and proved how we can all work as a team to accomplish the main goal of taking care of multiple patients at one time.  Thanks again!!!!

A special "THANKS" to the Davenport Fire Department this year for their assistance on our Mass Casualty "Mock" Scenario on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at our Annual Training Conference.  It was the first time for us to work with you and the scenario was a success as everyone worked together as a team.  Thanks again!!!!

Thanks to Brit Montgomery, flagger for Davenport and Maquoketa for informing us about flagging, officiating and promoting races.  Very informative and job well done!

Thanks to Ray Guss, Jr. for showing us how the Hans device works (left). Taking the time out of your busy schedule means a lot to all of us and we appreciate you showing us the proper way to disengage the Hans from the helmet and how to assist a driver in an incident.  Thank you also to Julie Guss for sticking around with Ray (above) and watching some of what we do to train for each season.

Thanks to Bob Peppers for bringing his dragster (above) for us to learn more about drag cars and for teaching us about the new Hybrid head and neck restraint (below).  The head and neck restraints are something all drivers should be looking at for their safety.

(By the way everyone, the dragster is for sale.)

A Little Bit About Us!

Speedway Fire Rescue (SFR) has approximately 61 volunteer members as of January 1, 2008. Our training consists of the following: extrication tools and procedures, hands-on extinguisher training, mass-casualty scenarios, race car safety equipment familiarization and air and ground transport procedures and other duties related to motor sports safety. We currently work 8 different dirt tracks every weekend from April through October, assist Cordova Dragway at specials, assist LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway at their Oktoberfest and work the Quad City Airshow.  Check out our Schedule of Events or Track Links for more information.  We even have a cadet program for the youth to become volunteer members in our future.  For more information, please contact our Cadet Leader at karry.bohannan@mchsi.com
